There will be no work on the site this Saturday, February 19. The site will also be closed on Monday, February 21, for the Family Day Holiday.
The shoring removal work along Front Street East that had been planned to start for this past week, will now get underway next week, from Tuesday, February 22 onwards, weather permitting. As we noted previously, this is the first step in the reconstruction of the sidewalk. Once the shoring is removed, the old sidewalk is broken up and removed. Then the forming is done for the new sidewalk, and finally the new concrete is poured and finished.
Additionally the concrete pour for the new Sherbourne Street sidewalk is planned to happen this coming week, though the day will depend on weather conditions and the availability of subcontractors.
Interior suite, hallway and lobby finishing work will continue throughout the week, along with regular devilries of materials and supplies.
Looking Ahead
The removal of the East Tower Hoist (external construction elevator) is scheduled for March 7. This will involve a mobile crane placement on Front Street East, with temporary impacts to pedestrian and vehicle traffic.
