Sidewalk Reconstruction set to start October 4, 2021

Beginning on Monday, October 4, the removal of shoring and the reconstruction of the sidewalks around 158 Front Street East will get underway. The work will occur over the next 6 months.

The first phase of the work will begin on Frederick Street as of Monday. This section of the work will occur within the existing hoarding and should not have a noticeable impact on current pedestrian and traffic flows on Frederick Street.

Once work has been completed on Frederick Street, it will move to Front Street and Sherbourne Street. We will post updates as the work proceeds, as phasing and timing may change, especially with the impact of winter weather.

NOTE: We are meeting with stakeholders from the St. Lawrence neighbourhood Association, the St. Lawrence Market Neighbourhood BIA, and neighbouring condominiums on October 5, to provide a more detailed briefing on the work plan. We will post and circulate an update on Wednesday, October 6 following that briefing.

Saturday October 2

Crews will be on site Saturday working mostly on the interior of the building on drywall installation, tiling, masonry, plumbing and HVAC work. There is also expected to be window installation work on the upper floors.
