Construction Update for 158 Front St. E., June 18 – 26, 2021

Saturday June 19th

There will be work on site this Saturday. Window installers and interior finishing trades will be on-site from 7 am to 12 Noon.

Crane Removal in July

As we mentioned in our last update, the construction managers have scheduled the crane to be removed over the weekend of July 9th, July 10th, and July 11th, 2021. We will have more details on the work on June 28th but we can share that a short-term road closure of Front Street East and part of Frederick Street will be required to ensure the safe removal of the cranes.

Current Work

Workers are currently installing windows on the 20th and 21st Floors. The forming contractor is wrapping up on site and concrete work is 98% complete, with only a few sections left to be poured. The mechanical penthouse on the West Tower is currently being enclosed. The East Tower mechanical penthouse is being waterproofed with a metal catwalk being installed on the 28th Floor roof.

Finishing trades continue to move up the building: drywall installation is happening on the 12th Floor podium; electrical and mechanical rough-ins are ongoing on the 13th Floor; and suites are framed up to 17th Floor.

Looking Ahead

Elevator contractor to begin installation in the coming weeks, as well as a landscape contractor to begin work on terraces throughout the building.

We anticipate Saturday work to continue for the immediate future; including Saturday June 26th. Saturday work will include window installation, interior finishing work and general site housekeeping.

The site will be closed for the Thursday, July 1st Canada Day holiday and commence again on Friday, July 2nd.
