We have just received word that the City of Toronto is issuing a permit for the crane work and accompanying partial road closure at 158 Front Street East for tomorrow, Saturday, October 17. Work will commence at 7 am.
The construction management team had expected this to occur on Sunday but tomorrow, Saturday is the City of Toronto’s preference.
We have preliminary draft traffic plan (below). This shows that there will be two lanes of eastbound and westbound traffic along the south side of Front Street East between Frederick Street and Sherbourne Street. The south sidewalk will remain open.
The two northbound traffic lanes and the the north sidewalk will be closed during the duration of the work on Saturday. We expect based on past experience that the work will take 10 to 12 hours, so therefore completing by 7 pm, approximately.
There will be paid duty Police officers on-site, as well as site staff, to direct traffic and ensure safety.
This is necessary work in order raise and adjust the crane on the eastern tower of the building.
If we receive updates to the traffic plan we will post and circulate the information as soon as we receive it.
