Excavator removal & Road Closure confirmed for Saturday, January 19, 2019

We can now confirm that the remaining excavator on-site at 158 Front Street East will be removed on Saturday. As the excavator is on the P3 grade level, it will need to be lifted out of the site by mobile crane and then loaded unto a large flatbed trailer.

This will require a partial road closure of Frederick Street roughly from Front Street East north to the midpoint between King Street East. There will be paid duty police officers on-site to assist with traffic control. Access will be maintained to 160 Frederick and 159 Frederick. However, there may be some short-term delays while the mobile crane is being set up in the morning and taken down in the late afternoon.

The City of Toronto has issued a permit for work to begin at 8 am, one hour earlier than normal for a Saturday. This is due to the importance of accomplishing the work during daylight hours and having the excavator removal complete by the target time of 5 pm.
